Mozambique is a country on the Indian Ocean coast of Southern Africa bordered by South Africa to the south, Tanzania to the north and with inland borders with Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Swaziland. Of its neighbours the most significant economy and trading partner is South Africa. This report brings attention to Tanzania another bordering neighbour, the relations between the two countries goes back to the 1960s when the Mozambican Liberation Front (FRELIMO) was founded in the capital of Tanzania. The relations grew through the liberation struggle to present day with the two countries sharing newly discovered resources in the Rovuma basin and the development of significant infrastructure which includes roads, bridges, transmission lines and ports that will not only assist with the development of the coal fields and gas fields but will also assist with the creation of jobs and economic development.
