WEConnect International in South Africa is planning an outstanding conference that is focused on helping women-owned businesses succeed in global value chains. Throughout the day, there will be unique opportunities to network and connect with amazing women-owned businesses as well as representatives from WEConnect International's corporate members. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to inspirational and experienced voices in the world of business. WEConnect International in South Africa’s exciting annual event is growing in sponsorship and participation year-on-year. The event is this year being sponsored by EY, ExxonMobil, Johnson & Johnson, Accenture, IBM and Ingersoll Rand.
WEConnect International in South Africa held its third Matchmaking session this year on 15 August 2017, hosted by EY, Sandton, with corporate representatives who are active members of the Advisory Council. They were Jacoba Schutte, Chair: Advisory Council of WEConnect International in South Africa, and EY’s Products and Services Procurement Lead, South Africa; Lorenzo Bell, EY’s Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Procurement Manager; Lindsay Burns, Ingersoll Rand’s Operations Administrator; Grace Seeme, Accenture ESDP Lead; Nirvana Govender, UPS’s Chief Financial Officer; Lynn Turnbull, Sodexo’s Supply Chain Manager; Bree McClure, Sodexo’s Supply Chain Officer; and Jacob Pretorius, Procurement Manager from Johnson & Johnson (JnJ).
Ending off Women’s month in South Africa, women business owners met on Monday and Tuesday morning, 28th and 29th August 2017, at the Newtown ABSA Enterprise Development Centre and the Jozi SME Hub in Soweto respectively, for a one-day Enterprise Development Seminar hosted by ABSA Business Banking. The seminars were hosted by Charlton Thangalan, Provincial Manager: Enterprise Development, ABSA Business Banking Gauteng South and Keketso Temane, Enterprise Development Consultant at Barclays Africa Group Limited, for women business owners affiliated with WEConnect International in South Africa. The seminar covered topics such as Key Steps in Forecasting; Steps in Forecasting and A Case Study; How to Compile a Winning Budget and Forecast and Basics of Digital Marketing.
